Not sure how to categorize this form of painting, though as is often said, I can't explain it but I know what I like when I see it. I like it. Doesn't overload the brain with sub-colors, sticks to primary optics, gives a realistic but personal viewpoint.

Growing up in Cranston RI, Del Ponte was always drawing and painting. After high school,he joined the US Navy. Returning from the Navy,he moved to Florida. He opened a painting business
working with interior designers. These designers soon discovered his artistic ability,s and he suddenly found himself painting murals. His Trompe L'Oeil paintings graced the walls of homes from the prestigious Fisher Island to Key West and Palm Beach,FL. He has also worked on commissions all over United States,sold paintings all over the world. He has won numerous awards over the years. His work has been exhibited statewide. Recent Mural inside the Lobby of the World Famous RIVERSIDE HOTEL on Las Olas.
Del Ponte's versatile mediums include oil, acrylic, and watercolor,portraiture,also street painting and performande art. In recent years he is enjoying the challenges of going outdoors on site in the elements with a blank canvas and capturing the scene in his unique style and expressionism colors.
